Walking in the Local Area
There are many spectacular coastal walks within a few miles of Ardmor. For visitors interested, we can provide maps with marked walks which we have discovered ourselves.
Gougane Barra and the National Forest Park
For the more adventurous, the spectacular lake and mountains at Gougane Barra and the National Forest Park is about 1 hour drive away. There are a number of marked footpaths in the surrounding area.
Sheeps Head Penninsula
Walk the Sheep's Head Way, chosen as the best walk in Ireland by Country Walking magazine. This 55 mile Long Distance Walk has a huge variety of terrain all with beautiful views, and there are many long and short loop walks available, all easily explored within a day trip from base.
